Slack
Linear craftedCreate Linear issues from Slack messages and set up notifications

Overview
The Slack integration gives you superpowers that make it easy to create, update, and view Linear issues and their data directly from Slack. Notifications keep colleagues in the loop on project and issue status.
How it works
Create Linear issues from Slack by typing /linear
into any channel or direct message. The issue modal will prepopulate with a template if a default template has been set for that team. From threads, click on the More Actions menu to create an issue with the message's content.
Linear links will expand to show a preview with key properties such as description, status, and assignee for issue links and description, status, and target dates for project links. Expanded links will include actions when available so that members can update issues directly from Slack. Common actions include subscribing, assigning, and commenting.
The app offers many types of notifications for Slack. Enable personal notifications so that Inbox notifications always go to Slack. Team and project notifications can be sent to dedicated Slack channels, to keep everyone in the company updated, not just users with Linear accounts. Opt to get team and project notifications in your Inbox, too.
Configure
Go to settings to connect your organization's Slack workspace to Linear. It takes about a minute and must be done by a Slack (and Linear) admin. This step enables creating issues from Slack, message actions, and expandable links for every member of the workspace.
All Slack users will see expandable links but only Slack users with Linear accounts will be able to create or update issues from Slack. Team, project, and personal Slack notifications can be enabled by anyone in the workspace.
