Send NudgeHost file links to new or existing issues

Overview

NudgeHost puts files online at a link you can share. With this integration you can send any NudgeHost link to a new or existing Linear issue, where it shows the file’s name, type, and size, and updates when the file changes.

How it works

Connect Linear once from Connected apps in your NudgeHost dashboard, and every link in Your files gets a Send to Linear button. Choose New issue to create an issue in one of your teams, with the file’s name as the starting title and an optional note. Choose Existing issue to search your issues, or paste an issue’s link or ID.

Either way, the issue gets the link as an attachment that shows the file’s name, type, and size. A new issue also gets the link at the top of its description, with your note under it. On an existing issue, NudgeHost adds the attachment and leaves the description as it was.

The attachment stays current. If you replace the file, change the link’s password or end date, or delete the link, the attachment updates to match, and after a replace it shows how long ago the file changed. When a link ends, NudgeHost marks that on the issue too. It only sends a link when you choose Send to Linear, and links already on issues keep working if you disconnect.

Configure

You need a NudgeHost account on any plan, including Free, and permission to authorize applications in your Linear workspace.

  1. Open your NudgeHost dashboard and find Connected apps.
  2. Connect Linear and approve NudgeHost on Linear’s screen.
  3. In Your files, use Send to Linear beside any link.

To disconnect, use Disconnect on the Linear card in Connected apps, or revoke NudgeHost in Linear under Settings, Security & access, Authorized applications. NudgeHost asks to read your workspace and to create and update issues, and its webhook listens only for authorization events, so it knows when you remove its access.
