This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP“) governs your use of Linear’s products and services, including AI features (the “Services“). It is incorporated by reference into your agreement with Linear Orbit, Inc. (“Linear“) (the “Agreement“). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Agreement. Compliance with Laws

You must use the Services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including export control, sanctions, and privacy laws.

Acceptable Use

You may not, and you may not permit others to, use the Services to: (a) probe, scan, reverse engineer, or test the vulnerability of the Services; (b) bypass any authentication, rate limit, security, or content-filtering measure; (c) introduce malware, conduct denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise disrupt the Services; (d) access the Services through automated means beyond the rate limits and parameters set forth in Linear’s developer Documentation; (e) scrape or extract data outside Linear’s published APIs; (f) infringe any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; (g) publish or share another person’s personal information without authorization; (h) harass, threaten, stalk, defame, or discriminate against any individual or group; (i) post or transmit sexually obscene content, content depicting or inciting violence, or child sexual abuse material (“CSAM“) (Linear will report suspected CSAM to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children where required by law); or (j) send spam or other unsolicited or fraudulent communications.

AI-Specific Restrictions

The following additional restrictions apply to your use of any AI feature of the Services (“AI Features“).

You may not use AI Features to provide legal, medical, financial, insurance, or other regulated professional advice without review by a qualified, licensed professional before that advice is delivered or relied upon. You may not present AI-generated content as the work of a specific human or in a manner intended to deceive a person about whether they are interacting with a human or AI; consumer-facing chatbots and similar interactive systems built on the AI Features must clearly disclose that the user is interacting with AI. You may not impersonate a real person or organization without consent. You may not bypass or circumvent the AI Features’ safety controls, including by means of jailbreaking, prompt injection, or adversarial prompts. You may not use inputs to or outputs of the AI Features to train, fine-tune, distill, or extract weights from any AI model that competes with the AI Features or with the underlying models that power them. You may not use the AI Features as a proxy, gateway, or reseller offering to provide AI capabilities to third parties outside your authorized users. You may not use AI Features to create or disseminate disinformation, synthetic media of real persons designed to deceive, or fake reviews, testimonials, or endorsements.

You may not use AI Features for any practice prohibited or classified as high-risk under the EU Artificial Intelligence Act or analogous laws, including: subliminal, manipulative, or deceptive techniques that materially distort behavior; exploitation of vulnerabilities based on age, disability, or socio-economic status; social scoring of individuals; emotion inference in workplace or educational settings (other than for medical or safety purposes); biometric categorization to infer race, political opinions, trade union membership, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, or sexual orientation; or predictive policing based on profiling.

Your use of the AI Features must also comply with the acceptable use policies of Linear’s AI subprocessors, as published on Linear’s trust center, subprocessor list, or the subprocessors’ websites. Where this AUP and a subprocessor’s policy conflict, the more restrictive policy applies.

High-Risk Use Cases

If you use AI Features in any High-Risk Use Case, you must implement the following safeguards: (a) a qualified human reviewer in the relevant field must review and approve the AI output before any decision, advice, recommendation, or content is disseminated or acted upon; and (b) if AI-generated output is presented to or relied upon by an end user, individual consumer, or member of the public, you must clearly disclose that AI was used. You remain responsible for the accuracy, appropriateness, and legal compliance of any output you rely on or distribute.

High-Risk Use Cases“ means uses of the AI Features in connection with legal interpretation or decisions; medical diagnosis, treatment, or other medical guidance (general wellness advice excluded); insurance underwriting, claims, or coverage decisions; investment, lending, or other financial-eligibility decisions; hiring, employability, or housing-eligibility decisions; academic testing, admissions, or accreditation; the operation of critical infrastructure (e.g., power, water, telecommunications, transportation, healthcare information systems); criminal-justice determinations, border or immigration decisions, or eligibility for government benefits; or publication of AI-generated content as journalism or news without disclosure of its AI origin.

Anti-Abuse

You may not create or operate multiple Workspaces or user accounts to obtain additional Promotional Credits or Entitlement Credits, to circumvent Credit limits or eligibility conditions, or to evade any restriction in the Agreement. You may not circumvent any suspension or ban Linear has applied to your account, including by creating a new account or accessing the Services through another account. You may not resell or sublicense access to the Services except as expressly permitted by the Agreement.

Sensitive Data

You may not submit to the Services any data subject to specific legal protections beyond general privacy or data protection laws, including but not limited to: protected health information under HIPAA (only permitted where Linear and Customer have entered into a written Business Associate Agreement (a “BAA”) covering Customer’s use of the Services), cardholder data under PCI DSS, nonpublic personal financial information under GLBA, biometric identifiers regulated by applicable law, children’s personal information under COPPA or analogous laws, or classified or controlled-unclassified government information, in each case unless you and Linear have expressly agreed in writing that the Services may be used to process such data.

Reporting

To report a violation of this AUP, including a suspected violation by another user or unauthorized use of your account, please email security@linear.app with a description of the violation and any information that would assist Linear in investigating.

Enforcement

Linear may, in its sole discretion and without notice (other than as required by law), throttle, rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access to the Services for any user, Workspace, or customer that Linear determines has violated this AUP or the Agreement; remove or disable content that violates this AUP; revoke Promotional Credits or Entitlement Credits associated with the affected Workspace; block specific inputs or outputs; and report illegal activity to law enforcement and preserve evidence in connection with any such report. Linear is not obligated to monitor use of the Services or to take action in any particular case, and Linear’s decision not to act in one case does not waive its right to act in another. Linear has no liability for action taken or not taken under this AUP.

Updates; Relationship to the Agreement

Linear may update this AUP from time to time by posting an updated version at https://linear.app/aup or such other URL as Linear may designate. Updates take effect on the date of posting unless otherwise specified, except that Linear will not make changes during a customer’s then-current Subscription Period that materially reduce the customer’s rights under the Agreement, other than as required by law, to address security risks or abuse, or to comply with Linear’s third-party AI model providers’ requirements. This AUP supplements and does not replace any other obligation in the Agreement; in the event of conflict, the Agreement controls except as to the additional restrictions and AI-specific requirements set forth in this AUP, which apply in addition to the Agreement.
