At Linear, we're building the product development system for teams and agents. AI is fundamentally changing how software gets built, and we’re shaping the tools this new era requires.
Founded in 2019, Linear has become the platform of choice for more than 40,000 companies (including OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp) to plan, build, and ship their products. Today, our team is distributed across North America, Europe, and Australia, and we’re continuing to grow internationally. What unites us is relentless focus, fast execution, and a deep care for software craftsmanship.
Role Overview
Field marketing at Linear is just getting started. Its job is to put us in front of the right people in the right room: executive dinners, conferences, partner events, and programs built with our Customer team around named accounts.
We're hiring our first Field Marketing Manager to take that motion from strategy to execution. You'll own the executive dinner calendar across cities, decide which third-party events and partner programs are worth our time, and build the invitations and follow-up that help our sellers turn a good evening into a real conversation. This is a hands-on role. You'll tap your venue and vendor network, build the run of show for each program, and be on site to run it.
Location & work mode
Linear is a remote-first company, with optional co-working offices in San Francisco, New York, and London. This role is open to candidates based in the United States, with San Francisco or New York preferred. You can work from anywhere within the US. We value deep focus and async collaboration, with intentional moments to connect in person through team off-sites, optional co-working, and occasional travel. This role involves frequent travel for events, including evenings.
What you’ll do
Own the executive dinner calendar across cities: pick the city, the venue, the date, and the theme for each dinner
Build each guest list with our Customer team, equip sellers with invitation sequences, and track RSVPs so every seat goes to someone worth having there
Manage venues and vendors, negotiate menus and minimums, and keep per-dinner spend, contracts, and travel logistics within budget
Brief our hosts and executives on who's attending and what we want to learn, be on site to run the night, and hand follow-ups to Sales afterward
Evaluate conferences and sponsorship offers by audience quality, account coverage, and expected return, then plan how we show up: booth or no booth, side dinners, customer meetings, and speaking slots
Co-host dinners, workshops, and meetups with partners, and agree up front on guest lists, costs, and who follows up
Sit with Sales each quarter to pick target accounts, build lightweight formats an AE can request for a key account, and report on attendance, meetings held, pipeline influenced, and feedback from attendees and account owners
What we’re looking for
3+ years in field marketing, event marketing, or B2B events, ideally at a software company. Experience in developer tools, SaaS, or another technical product is a plus
A track record of running dinners, roundtables, or other small-format events end to end, plus experience planning around conferences: sponsorships, side events, and customer meetings
Experience working next to Sales. You know how to build a target account list, get an AE to care about an event, and tell them afterward what happened
Strong project management. You can run several cities and events at once without dropping details
Comfort with budgets, vendor contracts, and a spreadsheet. Hands-on time with HubSpot and event attribution is a plus
Clear writing and an easy way with senior guests, hosts, and partners. Experience marketing to engineering and product leaders is a bonus
Experience building an event series from the ground up, including a playbook someone else could run
Willingness to travel often, including evenings
What we offer
We're a small, focused team that cares deeply about the quality of our work and the people we do it with. Here's what you can expect:
Competitive salary and equity
Employee-friendly equity terms including early exercise in the US and extended exercise windows
Daily meal and coffee stipend on every workday
Paid co-working space or desk
Health coverage (based on country requirements)
5 weeks paid vacation, plus local statutory holidays
4 months paid parental leave
Paid month off after 4 years & every 2 years thereafter
Regular team events and off-sites
Remote-first with no required commute
