Inside Scout24’s rebuild around agents
Scout24 runs ImmoScout24, Germany’s leading real estate marketplace. Founded in 1998 and publicly listed, the company of around 1,100 people has spent the past year changing how it builds software so its teams can work with AI agents, and Linear connects that work from first conversation to merged code.
CTO Gertrud Kolb describes an agent-ready company as one where tools and processes are connected closely enough for agents to take on tasks across the entire software delivery process. People still orchestrate the work, review it and stay accountable for the outcomes.
Linear is connected to several of the channels where Scout24’s teams discuss feature ideas and talk with customers. Those conversations become scoped issues, either through a quick @linear command in Slack or through an intake agent they built on Linear’s API.
Loops then help with labeling and assignment as more requests come in. Almost ten thousand issues have come in through Slack since migrating to Linear, and each one links back to the customer problem or team discussion that inspired it.
When work is ready, the team’s agents pick up those issues as their input. Engineers review the pull requests with Diffs in Linear before merging them into the existing codebase.
Because every request starts as a scoped Linear issue, Scout24’s agents begin each task with the context they need to move quickly. To help track progress, anyone can ask @linear in Slack or the app where a project stands and get an answer in seconds.
